By a remarkable co-incidence I too an starting a High Elf army.
I am working on a design for an infantry heavy force with no Dragon princes or Silver Helms

Very bad idea Cap.
I have a 7,000 Point Elven Force, that makes me the boss around here!!!
The one thing that makes Elven forces good (except our tainted kin) is that they are extremely fast. Our cavalry is the best in the game so you need to have a couple of units of it so as to strike hard in the support of your spearmen etc. Otherwise they will get hit hard by the enemy cavalry with nothing to neutralise it.

Actually Andy using an army in a different way to the easy or obvious one is one of the joys of playing GW type games.
So an all infantry army it is for me!
